Wills and Estates

What is a Will?

A Will is an extremely important legal document that contains instructions as to how you wish for your estate assets to be distributed once you pass away. Ensuring that you prepare a valid Will is the only way that you can guarantee that your assets will be distributed according to your wishes after your death.

What is the purpose of a Will?

While the primary purpose of your last Will and testament is to distribute any assets you own in the event of your death, it may also legally specify a number of other provisions, including: -

  • Who will be the Executor of the Will;
  • Assigning the guardians of your children and their property;
  • Naming who the beneficiaries are on the Will. This can include any person, family member, friend, organisation or institution;
  • Decide between the choice of cremation or burial;
  • Leave instructions for the payment of debts and taxes.

We would love to discuss with you the different ways in which we can assist you with the preparation of one of the most important legal documents in your life.
